Former Speaker Ghali Na’Aba has assured he will honour invitation by the Directorate of State Services (DSS) to its headquarters in Abuja by 12 noon on Monday to elaborate on the interview he granted on national TV last week.
Na’Abba spoke in his capacity as a co-chairman of the National Consultative Front (NCF), a group with the agenda of enthroning an inclusive government.
A statement by NCF’s Head of Public Bureau, Dr. Tanko Yunusa said Na’Abba will honour the invitation, even though it suggests the country is gradually sliding towards “towards a police state”.
During the interview, Na’Abba spoke on the NCF’s agenda “to bring a new Nigeria that will work for all”.
The former speaker accused the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of incompetence.
He said the government has failed to arrest youth unemployment and insecurity leading to the killing of Nigerians daily.
He said the nation’s indebtedness has spiralled under the administration and poverty has increased among Nigerians.
Last week, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, was invited by the DSS to explain a claim he made during an interview on a radio station that a North Governor is a commander of Boko Haram.
