The Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) has said the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the new Chief of Staff to the President, is a well thought out appointment.
RIFAN said the appointment of Professor Gambari is laudable considering the fact that he is a seasoned scholar and experienced diplomat.
A statement issued by the national president of RIFAN, Aminu Goronyo, expressed hope that the new CoS will bring his wealth of experience to bear to ensure growth and development across the country.
“We are confident that you will build on the achievement of the President towards ensuring that Nigeria remains self-sufficient in Rice production and achieve food security.”
RIFAN said the appointment of Professor Gambari demonstrates President Muhammadu Buhari’s avowed commitment to good governance by bringing on board competent Nigerians to assist him in taking Nigeria to the Next Level.
“RIFAN enjoyed the cordial relationship with late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari who contributed largely to the development of Agriculture under this administration. We are ready to work with Professor Gambari, secretary to the Government of the Federation and minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and that of water resources towards ensuring that Nigeria joins major exporters of Rice”, Goronyo added.
