Former senate president, David Mark has promised to aggregate the views of every section of Nigeria in order to respond appropriately in a manner that would bring peace, unity and progress of the nation if elected president.

Mark, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant, made promise while responding separately to issues of restructuring, insecurity and unity of Nigeria raised by party faithful in Delta, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States when his presidential campaign team visited yesterday.

Senator Mark said “I know the feeling of Nigerians, I will address the issues of concern in a manner that would rekindle our brotherhood amongst us.

“I have travelled round the country, I know the pains of our people. I am not oblivious of the security and economic challenges. I can assure you that I have the courage and the political will to address them in a way that will give every citizen comfort and a sense of belonging.”

Senator Mark was quick to point out that most of the issues would be addressed through constitutional amendment, reiterating “I have the political will to implement the decisions if elected President. We can achieve peace and live harmoniously if we respond to the wishes and yearning of our people.

“If I get the mandate, my priority would be the unity and stability of our nation. That is the way to go if we must make progress as a nation.”

Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his Cross-River State counterpart (both served in the 7th Senate with Mark as the then Senate President) were in agreement that Mark has the requisite credential to be president of Nigeria.

The two governors praised Mark for the mentorship they received from him in the Senate but tasked him to initiate policies and programmes that would facilitate all round development if elected.

Delta State PDP Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, Ntufam Edim Inok of Cross River and Paul Ekpo of Akwa Ibom said they would canvass for votes for the most qualified and experienced aspirant who can get the nation to work again.
